AASHTO-accredited soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete testing — from our own field programs and as a subcontract service for other engineers and contractors.
Our South Elgin laboratory holds AASHTO Accreditation for soils, aggregate, hot mix asphalt, and pavement marking materials testing. All testing is performed by technicians holding relevant NICET, ACI, and IDOT certifications.
Whether the samples come from our own field boring programs or are submitted by outside engineers, contractors, or testing firms, our lab operates to the same accredited standard. Subcontract laboratory testing is available for clients who need results without the field work.
Reports reference ASTM and AASHTO methods, are signed by the responsible technician, and are reviewed for accuracy before delivery. Turnaround is fast — contact us for current schedule.
Other geotechnical firms, contractors, and engineers are welcome to submit samples to our AASHTO-accredited lab. We accept soils, aggregate, concrete cylinders, asphalt cores, and more. Contact us for a current fee schedule and turnaround times.
Atterberg limits, grain size analysis (wash sieve and hydrometer), moisture content, proctor compaction (Standard and Modified), consolidation, unconfined compression, CBR, and hydraulic conductivity. Supports geotechnical reports and embankment design.
Gradation (sieve analysis), unit weight, specific gravity and absorption, LA abrasion, flat and elongated particles, freeze-thaw soundness, and sand equivalent. Supports base course, subbase, and structural fill specification compliance.
Extraction and recovered gradation, ignition oven (AASHTO T308), Gmm (Rice specific gravity), Gmb, Marshall stability and flow, Hamburg Wheel Track testing, and asphalt binder content. IDOT and Tollway mix design and acceptance testing.
Compressive strength of cylinders and cores, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength (modulus of rupture), unit weight, chloride ion penetration, and air void analysis. Full curing and break services available for field-cast samples.
Our Laboratory page lists every test method we perform, the applicable standard, and whether it falls under our AASHTO accreditation scope. View turnaround details and subcontract sample submission information there.
Every test report we issue is signed, method-referenced, and reviewed before delivery. Our documentation supports PE-sealed reports, IDOT submittals, and IBC special inspection records.
Our lab accepts samples from our own field programs and from outside clients needing accredited testing without field crew involvement.
